The next additions to my 29 gallon community tank will be a school of Corys. I had my mind made up to get Juliis, but then I got to thinking, are there any species that are a little more colorful and not just black and white? I know they are bottom feeders and are not as likely to be as flashy as other species, but just thought I'd ask.

I was after some colourful ones a bit different but went for Venezuelan Black in the end, they are a bit rarer. They look really cool in a group. Solid black with white bellies.

I've got some sterbias, they have a nice spotted pattern and orange fins. Rabuati and orange laser are nice if you want more colour.

I saw several interesting ones at our LFS today. Definitely agree the Sterbai are a nice alternative. If you google The Wet Spot Tropical Fish they have a Pinterest page with a great album of cories (without sizes unfortunately).
