Hi everyone!
I just got 3 comets on Saturday. They are currently in a 10g cuz thats what I had (wasnt planning on them).
My first question is i have the opportunity to get either a 52g or 55g. Which is better? Second question is what is the best way to get it started? Either one will be a used tank.

I'm assuming this a shallow 4ft tank you are looking at?

Decades back I had one that outgrew I think a 25gal tank. I guess over a year. That was then placed in a contained pond/well and a friend and I caught it accidentally about a year later. Big, deep body about a foot long plus a pretty decent tail as well. Fat and happy as anything. The pond was about 12ft across and 4ft deep.

So comets are big fish which I've always though more suited to ponds.

Fancy gold fish are I believe slower growing. A friend has one fantail in probably a 100gal tank. All up it is probably just short of a foot long.
