Is this a sign of breeding or is someone getting ready to release babies? Or can I fill the massive hole? It goes from front to back and one of the Cichlid stones have shifted. I'm concerned there gonna crush the poor thing or worse smash the tank glass and have a bigger problem on my hands.

The digging has been going on non stop for a week and he's making some real good progress. Just not sure what to do...

Any advice?

Make sure your bottom stones are firmly wedged together and to the bottom so that even if gravel is move they will not fall.

Will do... I'm gonna check everything out in the morning. Do you think it's a breeding thing or just instinct? Just wondering because I have 3 holding ATM...

Digging is breeding behaviour but in my experience Africans are just crazy about digging pits and generally moving substrate.

Ok gotcha. So maybe, maybe not... I'll keep my eyes open.

Thanks for your help. Have a great memorial weekend!!
