Converting an up and running tank to planted

As you get more into plants youll discover low light can be awesome. Low par co2 macros and micros can hang with the high light tanks imo.
 
ah no i wasn't aware - that's cool. I thought it didn't look like the swords I'd googled but was told this was because it's been in a v. shallow tank for a while.



do you mean to take away the old leaves (those big oval ones its got now) once its got 3-4 of the new leaves ?


Yes remove the old oval ones. They have been grown out of water.

Can I let the new leaves get bigger before trimming back the old one? I'm conscious this is my tallest plant and my angel's favourite haunt :-D
 
Hoping to hide all the gear at the back with plants but they certainly seemed to spread out and bulk up rather than getting taller so far. Although I know the lower light is why it's slow growing (including no algae issues so far, touch wood).

Should have added a BAckground when we first set it up but hey ho :)
