I just added Copepods to my tank my question is, when I vacuum my substrate am I going to suck pods from my tank?

The majority of my pods are on my rockwork but I'm sure there are some in the sand. I don't vacuum my sand though so not sure how many if many at all would be sucked up.
Are you actually vacuuming the sand, or just lightly sucking up the surface of the sandbed?
