Coral and Pod? ID please

I have a picture of some sort of pod creature on my glass... different then the normal little guys with the tails and antennas...

The coral I was told that it was a white star polyps, problem is they dont look like any pictures I have found on the web for white star polyps.

The critter is a hydroid. Nothing to really worry about. They will die out on thier own. The coral I have no idea.

I cant find anything on the net that looks like that...

when the polyps go into the rock, it is virtually smooth, there isn't a meaty shell that the polyps hide in (atleast not protruding like the green star polyps)

any good places to figure something like this out?

It looks like a parazoanthus sp.

I have the book Aquarium Corals by Eric Borneman here in front of me and it says....
"Their mat is unusually membranous if it is present."
It would be the same species as the yellow polyp.
