What would happen if a very small amount of dead coraline was placed in a freshwater tank?

P.S. I ask this because I got a whole bunch of supplies from a guy on Craigslist. When I went to pick the stuff up, I realized the supplies were used for a saltwater tank, and were covered in long-dead coraline. I actually scrubbed most of it off, but I absolutely could not get the coraline that had grown in the nooks and crannies of the supplies. So I was wondering if a very small amount of coraline would release ammonia, mess with my pH, etc.

No reason to use bleach IME. Soak a paper towel in white vinegar and lay it on the affected area for a few minutes. The vinegar will soften up that coralline so you can easily scrape it off. I have done this with numerous glass tanks, and also with a 4'x4'x2' acrylic frag tank because I couldn't use my glass scraper (would scratch the heck outta the acrylic). It worked perfectly. Rinse well and you'll be good to go.
