Could my hermit crab be a killer?

I have an established 65 gallon tank that has been doing very well. I have a sailfin tang, 3 clowns, and a damsel. Until recently I also had a firefish, an arrow crab, sally lightfoot crab, and 2 cleaner shrimp. Over the past few months I have slowley lost the last ones mentioned. No sign of health problems, everyone eats well, just one day I realize someone is missing. A week or so later someone else is gone. There is never any sign of a body. Do you think the hermit may be catching and eating his tankmates?

I kinda doubt it. Could you maybe have a preditor like a mantis?
Cleaners and Sallys are pretty fast for a hermit. How big is the hermit?

I'm not familiar with a mantis. The hermit is about the size of a mans thumb.
