Aquarium Advice Newbie
I am starting out a 30Gal XH (24"x12"x24") andI wanted to check on a few things
I have a 20" 96W quad coralife fixture about to be retired from reef use. Would this be too much light for this size tank? It is pretty tall so I was thinking that the extra punch might be needed to get enough light to the bottom. I believe they make a 6500k bulb, so i will get one of those once this bulb is worn out, right now it has a 50\50 bulb in it.
Also, I have 2 heaters taken from my saltwater tank. If cleaned up does anyone see issues with using them in freshwater tanks? I know that going from fresh to salt tanks you need to watch out if using things with copper, but is there any such issue with salt to fresh? I was thinking using a mix of water and vinegar to clean off any buildup of salt, coraline and algae before use.
