Crab ID

Hiya,

I'm new here, but love what I'm reading so far.

I wonder if anyone can give me any ideas as to what kind of crab the below little critter is? It hitchkiked in on some Fiji live rock. It's quite small, about 15mm diameter.

Possibly a xanthid crab. Not much of a threat while small. Larger ones can become problematic and may find your snails a tasty bit. If you have a sump or somewhere you can move it to, that's what I would do.

Thanks, will keep an eye on the little one, think we may also have a slightly bigger one that came in on the same rock. Don't have a sump yet, but that may change real soon....already looking to upgrade the tank!
