just found this crab in my tank with hairy legs redish color, Jus wondering if i should try to catch him now. Its small about less than 1 inch. Very hard to catch, tried few times but still let it got away. When i saw it , it was eating the algae on my LR, so i waswoundering if i should ty to catch it now or leave it till later when its harder to hide in small caves.

i actrually found out the crab might be a red ridged clinging crab
it do eat algae and not exactly reef safe

Not sure if you tried at night but they tend to be braver when the lights are out. If you have an idea where it is hanging out, you could use a smooth sided glass to try and trap it. Put a piece of shrimp or something in the bottom and lean it against the rock. Once in the glass, the smooth sides won't let it crawl back out.

yeah i did tried, but it or somethingelse knock the glass off the rock when i got up at morning, but i might try few more times
