So I have had this happen to me several times. It first happened when I put them in the tank and then again when I softened the water and changed the water conditions. Crypts are an easy plant to grow but are sensitive when there water parameters and when that happens they will melt back but will grow back. So if you have done anything different that is why. Otherwise more info on your aquarium would be needed.

It's not new. I got liquid plant food and root tabs that suck, but I've slacked a little lately between work and college and moving.

If you had just recently moved and had to reset up the tank that's what would have caused the crypts to melt. The only thing you can do is wait it out. They will grow back.

Crypts are notorious for melting when water conditions change or they are moved. Just be patient as they almost always regrow.
