Cuc hermits good or bad?

they are opportunistic I've just never had problems with my hermits. Each crab is different.

Yeah, I haven't seen the smaller hermits eat corals either, just each other and snails. Sorry I didn't mention that. Sally lightfoot crabs are interesting too. I have seen some in my friend's tank lunge at fish as they swim by, but they never caught one for the life of his tank. I have a few of them in my tank, and they seem ok for now.
Of all the crabs we can purchase for the hobby, porcelain crabs seem to be the safest (not counting acropora crabs of course).
