Curing Live Rocks

Do i need the light on the cure live rocks? Will the organisms on the rock live with out light? How about the hitchhikers? Thank you

you don't need light to cure live rock. the coraline algae won't grow without light, but its more important for all the die off to occur during curing than anything.
the LR i get from my LFS has nothing in it that survived transport. Not even pods.
the LR i got from Liverocks.com didn't have to be cured, and had hitch hikers.
