My understanding is that snails can't handle high nitrates, so you'll probably have to do water changes just as you would with a fish in cycle.

I had a crap load of pond snails and possibly some very small MTS in my tank as it cycled. They hitch hiked on some plants. They survived the cycle and infact they really exploded in number. Treating the tank with Furan-2 when I got sick fish after the cycle did them all in though. My nitrates got up over 40 at the end of the cycle.

Are you fish-in cycling or fishless? If it's fishless, I'm not sure they'd appreciate the high doses of ammonia....??

i had a bunch of pond snails in my tank when it cycled, but i didnt dose ammo, just fishfood and rotting plants(no longer have the snails:( apparently jewel cichlids eat them)
