Does anyone know how to make the date appear in the system tray in XP?
If there isnt a way is there a free program that will make it?

If you hover your mouse over the time, it will show up.

Try going to control panel then taskbar and start menu. You will see a check box that says "Show the clock", if it doesn't have a check on it click it once then click apply. Hope this help.

Yea I know about hovering and that, but I want the date down there too. The clock is already there.

To sum up what I skimmed from it - raise your taskbar so that it's "thicker" - then the date will show. But, I didn't read most of the replies, so there may be more info on that page...

It worked, but I dont want the taskbar that thick.
I was wanting it right beside the time if at all possible.

I think it only shows if there's enough room. You can try disabling as many of the other tray icons that may be there as you can. (if you have a lot there, it's likely you need to run spybot/ad-aware and clean those up)
