Dave's cadlights 39g build

Just got my Cadlights 39g tank. Came with the lights, sump pump, stand and that's it. I want to get a bubble magus, about 40lb of live sand, 50-60lb of live rock.

It two lb of live sand per gallon??

I think its more like 1-1.5 per gallon on sand. Its the rock that's 1.5-2.0 per gallon.

Can I start a cycle with out the skimmer?

Also the media ?

Yep, you can start as soon as you have your rock. Skimmer & lights aren't needed now, but I would put in whatever filter media you will be using, so it too can build up the beneficial bacteria.

So like bio balls

Yep, if thats what you'll be using. Anything that will be in the filtration system should be in for your cycle. Filter pads, bio balls, carbon whatever...

Ok up date found 70 lb of live rock for $100, will that be to much?

Dude that's a killer deal. Deffinitly if its nicely seeded. I wish I could take that deal right now jump on it for the price

Any one know a good protein skimmer fir my tank, Something that will fit my tank.
