Anyone ever try this method for a freshwater tank. i am going to replace my 20 gallon long sump for a 30 gallon long tank I have sitting around. i want to simulate a deep sand bed in my sump to help curve my nitrates. What I thought of doing was getting a few small containers where I can put play sand anywhere from 2-3 inches in each container and placing them in my sump. Would this work and be beneficial?
