100% water change?
I'm sorry but ... why the need to stress the fish out that way? So the fish are ok but are the fish telling you or letting you know in any way that this is good for them?
Are these fish any better off than if they got a 90% water change or even say 95% just so they don't have to be out of the water flopping around?
The first couple times they did flop around on me but it didn't appear any more stressful than trying to net them and put them into another tank. In actuality, they appeared less stressed. Fwiw, IMO they are telling me that they are not stressed because I handle them so much and are not afraid, but rather greet me (and the pump and tube) when it goes in the tank. I can only presume they're letting me know this is just fine as we don't speak the same language. But I'm also going off of proven methods of the best in regards to this particular species. Also, at the point of 90-95% they're probably more likely to be much more stressed attempting to swim and avoid obstacles than laying flat on their sides. And I would say that 100% beats 90-95% any day.
Ok so after reading the link, the fish are never totally out of the water, at the very least, they have a few inches so it's never really a 100% WC.
Only two of the respondents indicated that they leave any water in the tank. The other replies clearly stated "remove all the water, they'll be fine", one of those being a board member of NADA.
Sent from my iPhone that doesn't like me. Or you.
