I have a variety of Corys in one of my long-established freshwater community tanks (60-gallons - tetras, small barbs, dwarf gouramis, etc. … no aggressive fish) and...I guess because of the addition of a new fish into the tank recently that exhibited no signs of any disease...a few of them have contracted a disease that resulted in their deaths. Here's a photo that shows the initial symptoms. That lightened area is clearly defines (not the result of any photo-software highlighting though that's what is almost seems to be.) The photo shows how it is very pronounced around the base of the dorsal fin but also shows that it appears at the adipose fin on to the top of the tail fin, as well. Can anyone advise as to what this disease is? Thanks.

To me it could be columanaris? Hopefully someone will chime in to help.

55 gallon elephant nose tank.
30 gallon boraras , red longfin bristlenose, bamboo shrimp, crs,rcs and different snails.

You are right...Looks to be internal bleeding that I have to think is associated with whichever disease is afflicting the Corys.

Ime bacterial infections like columnaris can show as just lesions or a variety of marks. Or it could be another bacterial type.

I'd go for either medicated feed with antibiotics OR furan 2 / metronidazole in combination.

And regular water checks on ammonia, temp, etc as I find tank stability very important during treatments.

Delapool, If I acquire metronidazole, would you know how to apply proper dosage? It is available in 250Mg tablet form but I have no idea how much to apply and how often. I would certainly treat the tank with it if I had that information. Thanks.
