hi, the closest fish store that sells ro water is a half hour away so it would be quite a hassle to drive out there weekly to get enough water to do the water changes on my 90 gal. is distilled water from the grocery store going to be as pure as ro water? that way i could save myself the trouble of driving 30 minutes to get the right water until i have enough money to buy a ro unit. thanks

A problem that I have found with distilled water in FW Discus tank is that sometimes, traces of NH3 will be left in the distilled water and skyrocket to (lethal fish levels) in the closed container. Still safe for human consumption but not for fish. Be aware due a quick NH3 test before using that brand. IME testing several brands some have 0ppm NH3 and I have had some that are 1.30ppm.

HTH,
Amber
