DIY CPR clone....coll cup ?

I'm building a scaled down version of a CPR bakpak2 for my 5 1/2gal. nano FOWLR. The only thing I can't quite figure out is how to make the collection cup. The CPR cup has a curved funnel shape on the bottom and I can't figure out how to make it. Any ideas or alternatives?

Make it straight with a flat plate on the bottom like the remora.

Never seen a remora skimmer first hand...not sure I'm getting the idea.
