Everything I read says to have 1 Cory per 5 gallons. LFS says not to count them towards your fish count and that they help more than have any negative effect on your load. And I do agree to an extent. I mean they still crap! But aqua advisor counts them against you? What are your guys thoughts?

All fish regardless of their benefits to the tank count towards your bio-load.

Cory cats still poop, and IME will not eat poop themselves. And if you're going by 1 for every 5 gallons, I'd start at a minimum of 20 gallons, since they do best in groups.

The only thing you shouldn't count towards your bioload is shrimp and snails
