Do the WON Titanium heaters get hot enough to hurt a snail?

I need a bigger heater so I am thinking about picking up a 100w WON Pro Heat Titanium Heater locally for $24. My only concern is that it might get too hot for a snail to be crawling on? I have no experience with these heaters.

It is fun to watch the snails run off the Visi Therm I have now, just not sure hot the titanium element gets and how quickly it gets up to that temp

I happen to have the very same heater. My snails will climb around it, behind it but never on it!

My snails crawl all over my current Visi-Therm like it is a giant candy bar

I'm not surprised. I found my snail surfing on the tall artificial tree. It was moving from one side of the tank to the other due to his weight. He didn't jump off until I guess he got bored.

Why not play it safe and install a heater guard?

I have not seen any good looking heater guards sized to fit the Titanium heater. If you know of any, please let me know

Mine's in my sump/fuge. I have not seen any problems with snails or hermits crawling on it, hot or cold. I doubt it would be any worse that your Visi-Therm.
