Drain help

I'm trying to update my drain. I had a piece if hose that I fit on the drain and return pump but I want to change it to PVC pipe.

Any idea on what size PVC pipe I can use for this? A 1/2 is too big for the return and a 1 inch is too big for the drain.

Do I have the wrong bulk head fitting?

I'm not 100%, but that looks like barbed adaptors threaded into your bulkheads where you should be able to just remove them or get a male threaded to female slip adaptor. I'd start by removing that piece , and then take it with you to the hardware store to figure out what you need to get.
