duckweed

It's a pain if you don't contain it and grows so fast it's unbelieveable. One thing that I've used just recently is I got one of those larger breeder boxes and kept the duckweed in it. It still uses the nutrients in the water but doesn't go all over the tank and in the filters.
 
Good idea rivercats. Mine grew incredibly fast too. It's good cover for certain fish that stay at the top though. It can be a nuisance so keep that in mind..
