"Eel" ID

Hi. I bought a few eels yesterday and the owner of the store struggles with english. He kept saying something along the lines of "wood eel". But can't find info on it. Attached is a close up of the head, little bit of a wider shot and a shot of its tail. It is brickish in color, probably just over a foot, has some faint dots and stripes. It has a "fish looking face" rather then the "moray looking face" with rays starting just behind the head. He almost looks like an American Eel but this is Saltwater (American eels are freshwater until they spawn).

Please help. I like to know what I have! Thanks!

Congrogadus subducens - so yes, wolf eel. It's actually a member of the dottyback family (Pseudochromidae).

What size tank is that guy in? I see a spotted sweet lips in the background which get over 2' long and need like 400 gallon tanks......
