Is this fish a hybrid or not? Ive heard many different opinions on them. I picked up a group of 8 of them and put them in a 100 gal. I have 3 pairs now and 2 of them layed eggs last night. They are a really beautiful fish. I just was wondering if anyone knows if these are hybrids or what? Im assuming they are hybrid.

No I think they are just like any other electric blue. Selective breeding. I believe some carry the blue gene. If I'm wrong I'm sure some one will correct me.

Yep, like Mike said they're just selectively bred. They are known to be stronger and more resilient than the electric blue jack Dempsey and many of the other selectively bred electric species, so they've got that going for them.

Yeah there a "man made fish" as they bread it with a blue gene
