Emerauld crab not reef safe?

I bought this emerauld crab and noticed tonight it was pickin at my xenia corals try to pinch its trunk and trying to eat it. I didnt know these crabs ate corals.i tried catching him but he got away. Any other people had this kind of issues with theres crabs?

I have had one in a reef and never had trouble with one.

I've had trouble with one tearing up a acro never messed with anything for months. Sometimes it happens or he's picking at algae watch him when the lights go out

Yeah. Never had trouble with one, I think it depends on the specific ones personality.

I've got six, it looks like they pull on the Xenia, but never damage it. I think it depends on the crab, and if anything is on the coral

Im gonna keep him in and observe if he actually damages the corals. Thanks for the feedback
