Encrusting ?

Can someone help ID what type of encrusting coral this is? LFS said it was a type of encrusting montipora but I have yet to find a pic of this on line.
I got it 2 days ago and it has not opened yet. Started it in the top 1/3 of the tank. Did not open after 24 hrs. Moved to bottom 1/3 of tank. Did not open after 24hrs. In LFS, had brown brush type things coming out of rock. They told me to keep it in top 1/3 of tank. I'm running 4x54W t5.
Any help on ID or where best placement is?

Definitely not a montipora. More likely briareum stechei, a type of star polyp.
