Amazon swords are heavy root feeders. I've had good luck with API root tabs.

Thanks again BigJim! How would I go about adding the tabs? Should I just drop them in or place them under the gravel near the plants?

Place them under the gravel near the plants. Are you dosing the water column with anything? All plants will take up some nutrients from the water column, even the "root feeders". That being said, I had a tank of swords that did great with just Tetra Florapride (Potassium and Iron) alone.

Definitely bury the root tabs.

Thanks for your answers. I will be getting root tabs. At the moment I am not dosing the water column with anything. If I was to dose the water column what should I use?
