figure 8 puffers

i have some figure 8 puffers in a mixed tank, im concerned about their teeth growing too big, i have lots of rocks and stoned, will they naw their teeth down on that as their not interested in the cockle meat ive been advised to give them, i tried putting in some live mussels as also instructed, but they only eat them out of there shell.

Try giving them some snails. Pond snails and small ramshorn snails should be inexpensive (free) as they generally hitchhike in on live plants. Most stores will give them to you for free, or you could get them from another hobbiest.
