It's sad that aquarium people don't seem to be interested in PC water-cooling fittings and tubing. Both, in most cases, are industrial grade. The pumps alone are food-grade, have huge MTPFs and 2 can be combined into 1 pump with 39-feet of head pressure.
The canister I'm building (one day when I'm not broke) will use an inline pump and tubing like your talking about. I'll connect to the overflow on that 150g acrylic I showed you. 750 gph

You're singing my song. You plan on building your own DIY cannister filter? Wow! The broadest supply of non-reactive tubing comes from Tygon. Colder Products makes solid QD connectors.
