So my molly's fins don't stay fanned out when it's in the community tank but when I put it in a separate tank by itself, it's fins are fanned out and pretty looking. Can anyone explain this? Does it have a problem with the other fish? I want as many different views as I can get, please.

What are the tankmates to your molly? Do you see fin nipping aggression from other fish?

What's the stock in this tank community tank? How large is this tank?

29 gal.

3 skirted tetras
2 platies
3 giant danios
1 molly
2 baby algae eaters
1 peppered cory

I don't plan on getting any more fish any time soon and the water details are in good shape at the moment.

Well there you have it, the skirted tetra should be kept in a school of no less than 5 to reduce fin nipping aggression.
