Fin nipping

My Tiger Barbs cornered one of my guppies last night and went to town on his tail fin. It was like a street gang picking a fight with Steve Erkle. So this morning I called the LFS and brought the barbs back and traded them for some cardinal tetras. My question is will the guppys' tail fin grow back or is the poor little guy scared for life?

It will grow back over time. There are antibiotics you can add to the water that will help it grow somewhat quicker, but mostly it just takes time. It shouldnt be deformed unless they really took off a lot.
