I have a 65 gallon freshwater tank with two goldfish in it I've had them for about 3 years. (I recently found out there should only be one for that size of tank so one is going to my father in laws pond soon) I also have to new young golden Dojo loaches. The pH is 7.6 ammonia 0ppm nitrites 0 PPM nirates 20ppm or less. weekly 25 to 50% water changes done. my goldfish seem to have fin rot and no matter what I do I can't get rid of it. I want to try doing one teaspoon of aquarium salt per gallon of water but I don't know if this is safe to do with the new golden Dojo loaches anyone know? I attached a pic but you can't really see the fin rot in it.

IMO, no salt with loaches Might try Melafix. After treatment up the frequency of WC's for a couple of weeks. Good luck.

Should I use no salt at all then? Your supposed to use some with gold fish Right?

The use of salt is your call. If you go that way, go light, maybe one half a teaspoon per gallon.
