I have a Finger Leather, which for the last 26 days (had it aprox 3 mos, great before) has been mostly closed up. There has been some minimal diurnal expansion & retraction, minimal polyp extension and many repetitive sheddings. Polyps don't fully come out & it never inflates to its original size, but there is some change from day to night.
I know leathers can go through phases like this, but I'm getting concerned that it hasn't bounced back fully for almost a month.
My parameters are all pretty good:
Salinity 1.025
Temp 80.6
Nitrate & Phosphate undetectable
(this has changed from 10-20ppm NO3 since this started)
Mg 1100
Ca 420
Alk 11
It's a 30 Gal mixed reef with 15 gal sump, running pellets, carbon & a skimmer.
The leather is centered 1/3 of the way up under 4bulb T5 lights. It's in good flow in front of an MP10 on Short Pulse mode.
I'm wondering if I should be concerned, if I should consider fragging or an iodine dip, or leave it be?
Thanks,
Mike
