finger leather issues

Ok I'm totally confused the last 4 1/2 months it was doing great
all my parameters haven't changed

Nitrite 0 PPM
Nitrate .05 PPM
Ammonia 0 PPM
Ph 8.4 PPM
Phos .01 PPM
Calcium 480
Temp 80.1*

This is how it always looked before it shrank

Now this is what it looks like now

I'm just baffled with this leather it grew like hell then poof a shriveled up prune
I really need help with this I don't want to loose it
is it possible it's getting ready to shed

All leathers slough every so often. Its normal. He'll be back to normal in a day or two.

I just didn't expect it than poof well glad to know its ok
my toad stool never shriveled up that much now I know

Mine does it every couple of weeks for 15 yrs now.
