First Anubias

I am going to aquire an Anubias on Saturday. I have a cave resin decoration that I want to tie it to. It has fake silk plants on it. I wanted to trim the fake plants off an tie it to this. What is the best way to tie it to this decoration without harming the plant? Here's a pic of the decoration.

What about thread ? I've heard people using 100% cotton thread and rots away over time. Just concerned because I have 4 very nosey loaches.

I have never used thread, but if you tied it well it would work too
