First attempt at HOB refugium. Recomendations and comments very appreciated!

Its an AC for a 50g tank. I have two of them on my 35g that i'm turning into saltwater. I was going to sell both since I wasn't planning on using a hob filter on the fowlr

Ohh gotcha... aquaclear. These are probably the best HOB filters to mod into one. Lots of threads on that. Usually the bigger ones though. What's the volume on the 50? Half gallon or?

The difference in the filter and the refugium is that the refugium would get rid of nitrates/nitrites while the filter would just trap it in the media. They're a great thing to have IMO.

Not sure of the volume, I've seen some diy.on the ac110s they are a lot bigger I believe

Yea my guess would be twice as big. I looked yours up should still be good. Here's one project with a 30 which is smaller than yours.

This may sound stupid but what IS the point of a fuge?

The point of mine is to have a place to stash my chaeto algae and house copepods. But it is a small one.
