first planted tank

Thinking about doing a planted tank in my 10 gallon I'm starting up but I've never done live plants before. Just wanted to get some advice on things I need and any tips.

The place to start is lighting. What kind of lighting are you planning on? This, along with the type of plants you want to grow, will help determine how agressively you will need to fertilize, and also determine whether a CO2 injection system will aid in success.

Do you know whether you are aiming for high light/high tech or low light/low tech? Do you have an idea of what kind of plants you want to grow?
