Fish for 17g planted scape

Hey all,

I have a currently empty 17 gallon tank and I was wondering if you guys can help with stocking advice.

I'm open to most if not all fish and inverts

Well I have black gravel so what kinds would compliment this well?

I love the killies for a small tank, specifically aphyosemion australe.

Even lime green killies are fun. I have two in my 36 gallon bow front.

Lost a male Betta due to water test kit not reading any nitrites during a huge spike so I'm not really ready for a new one.

I'm thinking maybe a shoal or school of something?
