Fish with fish ID please

Hello fish friends. I was hoping I could get some help naming this fish. It's a New world or South American but that's all I can gather. your thoughts?

Thank you! I must have a female. Her colors are finally starting to come out. She is an interesting one. For the longest time she would just hide underneath driftwood, and come to defend her territory. I did some rearanging a few weeks ago, and now she is more sociable. I'm looking forward to her colors continuing to show. Thanks again!
