I purchased a log for my tank for aquascape purposes.

My idea was to have som rocks support it from the bottom to create a kind of "bridge" for the fish to just pass under it and make it look nice.

But it just decides to float so I have to keep 2 rocks on top of it to prevent it from creating a disaster and to keep it from just floating around

It has been this way for 2 weeks, and I have been told that it will absorb water and I will finally be able to make the bridge, but I don't know how long to wait.

Or elss, I was just thinking of replacing it with a landscape ornament such as those typical castles.

How big? Have you tried boiling it? You could tie it down with fishing line to the rocks if it just refuses to sink. It will eventually get water logged enough.

Really depends on the size, I have 2 big stumps in my 90g Oscar tank that took 2 and half months to fully sink, not to mention the tea staining of the water.

It will eventually sink you just have to be patient ;)
