Floating parts of plant

I planted some Elodea densa about a week ago now over the last couple days every morning I find a stalk of it floating in the aquarium. I do have some mts to stir the sand but I was told they shouldn't really attack plants. Any advice?
I don't feel like losing the plants

You might have to weight them down until their roots become established. Try burying them as deep as possible, if that doesn't work I would try and buy plant weights.

Thanks the roots are in well it is pieces of the stems no roots
