Hello, want to set up my 60g 48" long tank with assorted african cichlids from my lfs and was wondering how I should set up my fluval 406? It has four trays, each separated into two. What media and it what order do you suggest? Thinking of getting like 15-20 of them after it cycles. Thanks.

What do you have so far? common filter media is Bioomax, Pre-Filter, and water polishing pads. You can also use chemical media like carbon, peat granules, zeo carb, and ammonia remover. You can also create your own media as well.

In my Fluva lI have my chemical filtration in the bottom tray: zeo carb
In my other tray I will have the biomax
and in the top tray I will have the pre filter
don't forget to rinse your media before placing them in the trays.

Thanks for the reply. I used this filter with my turtles and had it set up like this. Pre filters on the bottom tray, polishing pads on the second tray, carbon in the third tray, ammonia remover in the top tray, plus the large foams on the side tray. I seen biomax mentioned often, should I get some in there somewhere? Or replace or change the order?
