Fowlr cycle equipment

Ok so I'll be building my fowlr tank price by price dew to low funds.. So I was wondering what equipment I need to start cycling my tank so that while it's cycling I can save up for the rest of the equipment.
I hope that makes sense.
So basically what all do I need to cycle my fowlr?

Your rock. base rock and some live rock.
that'd be my first. Unless you still need a filter or some other basic need equipment.

Lol I have a 55 gallon tank and a powerhead.....

Well then whats your ideas on filtration? You going sump or hang on back or canister?

I think I'll do a hang on back and a skimmer.... That would work right?

That would work. I'd get the filter first, look into the aquaclear 110's, nice hang on back filter.

if you are only doing fowlr at least at first, the skimmer isnt high on your list, especially if you wanna just get your cycle started.

get a good liquid test kit like API saltwater master kit, you'll need it for cycling. maybe get your powerheads next.

Then onto sand and rock. And you're just abotu ready to cycle. Yo dont need lights for the cycle ro even for fish only.
