Oops here's the CO2 tank gassing off...

Update on the tank. Been away for a few days. No ferts during that time. CO2 was running a little on the lean side. Gave the star repens and AR mini a heavy trim. Added root tabs and did a water change. R. wallichii is basically a restart. The trimmed tops look promising. Pogo erectus is doing well. Long needles and a greenish yellow color. Will wait until it gets near the top before I trim it.

Ignore the crooked pic in the back.

Looking nice. I can't spot hardly any algae at all. Would you say that you have high light or medium light?

I will not ignore the crooked pic in the back! Fix it..fix it now...downoi looks splendid!! As does the rest of the tank.. happy with the planted plus alone?

Snip-snip. Spent quite a bit of time just now and last week trimming off leaves that had algae on them. A very painstaking task. There is still some BBA and stag horn in there.
Not sure if this is medium or high light. I know the PAR is published somewhere. I'm thinking medium. I believe the onslaught of GSA, BBA, and stag horn was a result of running the planted+ and FugeRay at the same time with insufficient CO2.

Maybe I'll throw a disco ball up there for distraction purposes.
Downoi is growing slow and steady. Need to spot treat some of them for BBA. I added a few root pellets; hoping it will help with growth.
I'm happy with the planted+. Would like to run the FugeRay with it but I need to get a handle on running the planted+ alone.

Now that would be completely unrelated to a previous post? If not?? Do it, do it. . I've yet to get a handle on running the p plus alone.. it means business. Have you seen any of the new finnex hubub? Very cool..

Your disco ball comment post on another thread was not acknowledged. Not sure why.
I am not looking for another fixture yet. I just want the wallichii and pogo to take off. Oh, and less algae.

1. Everything looks great!

2. Could I buy some of that pogo from you if you have any trimmings? It would be much later of course.

3. Your S. Repens looks very different than mine. Mine has long thin leaves and is rather pale. Not sure why. You have the same light closer to substrate could that be it?

Repens grows very differently based on light, substrate, and other nutes. Not sure which does what, mine got overwhelmed by BBA before I could add co2. :( if everything is perfect, they grow long, thin leaves, that are a bright green.

Oops, coincidence I suppose. . No, i figured you wouldn't be in the market for a new light, just thought you might appreciate the idea.. I want but I don't need. Your pogo seems to be doing good?? Compared to mine anyways.
I don't get it, plenty of light, co2, ferts, great root tabs.. y u no grow pogo?!#?#

1. Thanks!
2. Sure. Once it gets going. The one tall stalk has branched into three stems. Not sure if I should trim it and plant it as a "bunch" or if it would do better planted as three separate stems. Did you check with Brian on the availability of this? He grows this like water weed from what I've seen. Then again, everything he plants grows well.
3. Mine came from the TopFin gelpack. Always stays light green. When I temporarily added extra lighting it started growing taller (not what I was expecting). BBA magnet if you ask me. Last trim yielded 50-60 stems and I only trimmed 3/4 of it.

Cool. Yeah he said he doesn't ship until September because its so hot in AZ and plants would get fried.

Not an update but a throw back! I found a pic taken exactly one year ago (8/16/2013). Can you say green?

Once I started using DIY CO2, the broadleaf chain sword took over the tank. There is a slight touch of non-green in there with the crypt wendtii red on the right side.

I have had 3 broadleaf chain sword plants for 6 months now and not one runner yet. Maybe just dosing glut is not enough to produce runners ?

Man thats definitely green, but still looks cool. It's awesome to see the progression your tank had.

Fresh have you considered a smaller carpeting plant for the very front of your tank? Some monte carlo would carpet that area pretty quickly.
