So, recently I'd noticed a blue-green spot spreading across a fake, hollow log my daughter had bought me a while back for the aquarium. It wasn't quite the same as other BGA I'd seen, but very close, and I know BGA can be a variety of shades and colors.

So, I read up on blue-green algae, and how to combat it.

I've read theorys about water circulation- And stories refuting this idea. Nevertheless, I increased circulation around this area.

I've read theories about phosphate to nitrate ratio- And ensured I was in the proper range, and even bumped my nitrates a tad to lower the ratio.

As others mentions, my SAE's, Amano Shrimp, Cory, and Snail did not even touch the BGA. Oh, they nibbled across it, but didn't actually reduce it's size at all.

Not wanting to go blackout or introduce antibiotics, I took out the log and scrubbed it during my maintance cycle today.

And promptly noticed the paint peeling off the log and showing the blue-green plastic behind it.
