Fuzzy driftwood?

Husband has a piece of drift wood that is fuzzy all over. Any ideas what could be going on? I'm thinking bacteria of some sort, but I'm a reefer, so I'm not sure!

Perfectly normal for a new piece of driftwood it should just die out in a few weeks or get eaten by any algae eaters nothing to worry about

Had the same problem when I first added driftwood to my tank. It went away after a few months. Maybe scrubbing them off will remove them quicker.

I had that problem with a piece of mopani wood. I think it's a fungus. I added a few ghost shrimp to the tank and it was gone 36 hours later. They became little lawnmowers.

The otos are starting to work at it, and it it slowly disappearing
